FENCES
![]() August Wilson was born on April 27, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA to Frederick August Kittel (a German immigrant) and Daisy Wilson (an African American). Wilson is most famous for his ten-play series, The Pittsburgh Cycle. Each is set in a different decade of the 20th century, depicting aspects of African American life. Wilson received Pulitzer Prizes for Fences and The Piano lesson, two of those plays. Gosh, what a genius! Unfortunately, this genius died on October 2, 2005 of liver cancer. How sad! This makes Bobbie want to cry. :( To learn more about August Wilson, literary genius, Bobbie has given you these cool links. All you have to do is click here or click here.
